Former US President George W. Bush has found a second calling in the world of art after his dormant talents were recently brought to light by an electronic tablet. His wife Laura explains, “He got an app on his iPad where he could draw pictures. Like, he’d draw a picture of him in bed with Barney and the cat.” Bush himself went on to lament of Barney, the Bush’s beloved Scottish Terrier who passed away in 2013, “He never discussed politics and was always a faithful friend.”

Perhaps it was that fateful IPad memorial to Barney that sparked his inspiration but regardless, Bush has since launched head first into the art world with a fervor he once reserved for Middle Eastern countries. Bush’s painting subjects have spanned a wide range from the light-hearted, such as his portraits of dogs to the unfortunate, including recently leaked self-portraits which feature him naked in bathtub and shower settings. Bush also recently unveiled a collection entitled, “The Art of Leadership: A President’s Personal Diplomacy” at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas which features his portraits of 30 leaders from around the world.

In fact Bush has proven up for an art show at any altitude, once staging an impromptu viewing of his work while traveling aboard Air Force One. It was his trusty IPad that once again proved the key to displaying photos of his work to an audience including Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama, and Eric Holder. Know more.
