This is why they say never volunteer first. A tribe of five in Brazil voluntarily contacted nearby anthropologists in a wonderful surprise to everyone involved. Luckily they were speaking a well known tribal language so all could communicate within good reason. Not so lucky is the fact the scientists passed on the flu virus to these indigenous Brazilian people. The anthropologists say the influenza virus has knocked out entire tribes in the past.
And just like that the native people take you back to middle school to teach you never to talk to strangers. The second you feel comfortable enough to talk to these scary scientists, is the second you get backhanded with a deadly dose of the flu virus. Just stick with growing corn and making rain dances, natives; no need to kill off your whole tribe just to talk to a scientist. Know more.
