After the Rena oil spill in New Zealand, many penguins found themselves covered in oil, potentially killing them off if they were not cleaned up ASAP. Volunteers at the Wildlife Response Centre in the city of Tauranga managed to clean a lot of these birds, but you can’t just leave them be after that. Volunteers knit jumpers for the rescue birds to keep them warm. Know more.
