Move over, Instagram filters! There’s a new way to add cool visual effects to your photos. I bet you thought that urine was only good for marking territories, melting snow, and healing jellyfish stings. Well, congratulations, because now you can claim “artistic reasons” the next time you have the urge to leave your piss somewhere other than the toilet.

Upon experimenting with her own pee, a photographer discovered that soaking a roll of film in urine before developing it produces interesting effects on the photos. This Hawaii-based shutterbug got the idea after accidentally running a roll of film through the washing machine and finding that she loved the results. She has tried lemon juice, vinegar, wine, and – yes – now her own urine.

Regardless of the cool effects, this seems like a rather lengthy process to achieve said awesome photos. I mean, who are we kidding? As much as people seem to like to pee on things, with America’s instant gratification addicts, there’s no way anyone will be waiting for urine-soaked film to dry before seeing how a picture they took last week turned out. Instead, maybe we should try snapping pictures with our smartphones and then peeing directly on the screen. Could someone try that out and let me know how it goes? Know more.
