While fishing in the coastal area of Bonita Springs, Florida, a fishing group hooked a five foot shark. It’s not that out of the ordinary. Sharks are fairly common in those waters, but after a grueling battle reeling the black tip towards the boat, it was stolen by a gargantuan grouper. Officially called the goliath grouper, this monster fish swallowed the shark in one bite.

The video is splashy, but that family sure wasn’t eating shark that night.

Earlier in the day, the same group of fishing enthusiasts reeled in a 15lb grouper. Just as one of the people reached to grab the fish, the goliath grouper attacked the little grouper and he was no more. I’m a little confused as to why the fishing group persisted to fish in the same area. If I’m not mistaken, the ocean is pretty large, I’ll say massive, so why not motor on down the coast? The grouper kept surfacing by the boat, as if it was waiting for the fishers to deliver food to its mouth.

I guess the grouper was riding out the food delivery until it got served a whopper of a shark. Only then did it dive to the depths. There have been no reports if the fishing group caught anything else that day. Know more.
